Tracking the trade rumors

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5th at 4pm EST, and the rumors are starting to pick up as teams determine whether they are buyers, sellers, or not in the market. The Washington Commanders are in the first year of their recalibration under new GM Adam Peters and HC Dan Quinn. The fast start was a surprise to many, and it puts the team ahead of schedule, and possibly in the market to improve the team now as they eye the playoffs. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels is having a historic start to his career, and has lifted the team up, and leading them on a fantastic run so far.

Washington’s roster went through massive changes this offseason, as Peters and Quinn jettisoned a lot of Ron Rivera’s players, and started shaping the roster to their vision. Some spots still need work, with CB, WR, EDGE depth possible spots the team is looking at. Dianna Russini reports the team is calling about CB help, but Adam Peters is not expected to be willing to part with high draft picks. Adam Schefter reports that players are calling their agents, telling them want to get traded there. What a time to be alive!

Marshon Lattimore interest:

A few weeks ago, it appeared the #Commanders would be in wait-and-see mode. But their window has opened sooner than anticipated. And they are active, trying to take advantage of their opportunity. https://t.co/C8RZiV47Ww

The Commanders have emerged as a real contender for Saints CB Marshon Lattimore, sources tell @NFLonCBS. The Chiefs have had interest in the former Pro Bowl corner as well. Still 4 hours to go before the deadline.

Washington checking in on WRs:

Washington has poked around the receiver market to potentially give Terry McLaurin some help as it makes a playoff push.

Emmanuel Forbes Jr available:

.@BenStandig: “Here’s what I’ve heard on Forbes. I’ve heard multiple teams say that, yeah, he’s available. That Washington is open to moving him.” https://t.co/0GrxjDLi7V

I’m told that the #Commanders have recently assessed potential interest for 2023 1st-round cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. on the trade market, per sources. pic.twitter.com/2yParI2LcZ

Players calling their agents to get traded to Washington:

Here’s a sentence that hasn’t been written or uttered this century — since before Dan Snyder owned an NFL franchise: Players want to wind up in Washington playing for the Commanders.https://t.co/PMow2MPZyH

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 2, 2024

Commanders calling about CBs:

The Washington Commanders are calling around in search of a corner. Coach Dan Quinn wants a jolt, and at 6-2, Washington needs help if they want to get past the Philadelphia Eagles and their superb receiver group in the NFC East.https://t.co/7qXsguExdA

Wide receiver interest:

One team that could be buyers by the deadline: The Washington Commanders. Sources say they’ve quietly been doing their due diligence around the league on potential additions.

FA wide receiver interest:

Colts, Commanders and others had inquired about MVS, but New Orleans has clear need with Rashid Shaheed going out. @TomPelissero first on agreement. https://t.co/xkLPnkZLk0
