Injury updates
The Washington Commanders enter their Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals with a few players dealing with injuries. Johnny Newton and Zach Ertz both had rest days today. Newton made his NFL debut last week, and will continue to get playing time as he ramps back up following surgeries on both feet this year. Clelin Ferrell has been listed with a knee injury since the preseason, but has played in both regular season games, recording a sack in each.
Dorance Armstrong has been a ghost on the field, and now pops up on the injury report with a chest injury. He was limited during today’s practice. Quan Martin was listed with a hamstring injury last Friday, but play against the Giants. He was limited again today, but will likely be able to play again on Monday night.
The other new injury on today’s list is Benjamin St-Juste who was limited with a groin injury. St-Juste had his best game in a while against the Giants last week and will be needed on Monday night against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Emmanuel Forbes Jr had thumb surgery for a torn UCL, but wasn’t placed on injured reserve.
