The Washington Football Team (6-10) looks to finish their season on a strong note Sunday with a trip to the Meadowlands to face the New York Giants (4-12) in a rematch from Week 2.
Washington won the earlier meeting when former kicker Dustin Hopkins nailed a game-winning field goal as time expired. Hopkins had two attempts at the game-winner, missing the first, but officials ruled New York defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence was lined up offsides.
A lot has changed for these teams since that meeting. Both teams are without numerous starters and head into the regular-season finale excited to start the offseason.
There was a bit of controversy this week as New York head coach Joe Judge went on an epic, bizarre rant after last week’s loss to the Bears and appeared to take a shot at Washington with the following quote:
“This ain’t a team that’s having fistfights on the sidelines,” Judge said. “This ain’t some clown show organization or something else, okay?”
Washington coach Ron Rivera was not amused.
