The Washington Football Team is in big trouble along the offensive line. This season, Washington has lost three centers due to injury, while a fourth, Keith Ismael, was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Next up for Washington at center is 27-year-old Jon Toth.
Toth entered the NFL in 2017 as an undrafted free agent from Kentucky. Toth started 48 consecutive games during his college career — a school record. His first NFL gig came with the Philadelphia Eagles in Dec. 2017, and he would spend the entire offseason there before he was released the following September.
Over the next few seasons, Toth spent time on the rosters of the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets. He first came to Washington in August, signing with the WFT two weeks into training camp. While he was later released, Washington re-signed Toth to the practice squad on Nov. 8.
Toth was activated to the main roster for each of the last two games against the Raiders and Cowboys. He has yet to play on offense, though.
That will likely change Sunday.
