The Washington Commanders came up short in the preseason opener on Saturday, falling 20-17 to the New York Jets after a late field goal.
But unlike in some previous years, Washington’s preseason loss felt a bit different. The starting offense played one series, and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels led the Commanders on a touchdown drive. Daniels completed a 42-yard pass to wide receiver Dyami Brown to set up his touchdown run.
