Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has played in two NFL games. Through two games, Daniels has completed 75.5% of his passes, rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns and has not turned the ball over.
Naysayers will say but “he hasn’t thrown a touchdown yet.” As you’ve probably seen through two weeks of NFL play, passing touchdowns are down around the league. That will not last. As for Daniels, his passing numbers have been solid, but offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury employed a conservative approach to Daniels’ development through the first six quarters of his NFL career.
However, in the second half of Sunday’s win over the Giants, Kingsbury let Daniels attack downfield more, and the results were impressive. Daniels has been superior to the other rookies who’ve played, including No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, but that bar is excessively low right now.
What are others saying about Daniels? Here are what some analysts and national observers are saying about Washington’s star rookie through two weeks.
