The Washington Football Team finally heads into a game as the big favorite. Washington is listed as 6.5-point favorites over the Giants in the 2021 regular-season finale from the Meadowlands.
Washington has been the big underdog for much of this season, particularly in the second half of the year due to injuries and COVID-19 issues. That’s not the case in the Week 18 rematch with the Giants. Washington won the earlier meeting back in Week 2 when Dustin Hopkins connected on a game-winning field goal as time expired.
With the odds favoring Washington, what do the experts think?
According to NFL Pickwatch, 96% of the experts picking games in Week 18 are going with Washington. This is a far cry from what Washington is used to, having entered several games with 90% or more of the experts picking against Washington.
While this game has zero playoff implications for either team, Washington coach Ron Rivera wasn’t too happy with New York coach Joe Judge’s comments seemingly directed at his team last week. Expect Rivera to have some good old-fashioned payback on his mind.
Meanwhile, for the Giants, this is all about NFL draft positioning.
