Wild trade scenario would bring Tyreek Hill to Commanders in 2025

February 23, 2025 by Redskins Wire

The Washington Commanders have plenty of capital to work with during the offseason, something they’ll need to lean into during free agency so they can nail down some extra weapons for Jayden Daniels. They’ll use the draft for some of that, but for immediate-impact players, they’ll have to make trades or target guys in free agency. To that end, Bleacher Report has suggested a wild trade that would bring Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill to Washington.

In the trade proposal, Miami would get a 2025 2nd-round pick, a 2025 fifth-round pick, and a 2026 3rd-round pick from Washington. In return, the Commanders receive Tyreek Hill, a 2025 7th-round pick, and a 2026 5th-round pick.

Bleacher Report’s trade suggestion is based on comments Hill made after the Dolphins’ final game of the regular season.

“This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs,” Hill said to reporters. “I just gotta do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here or wherever the case may be, I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro.”

While on ProFootballTalk, Hill said, “I’m taking full accountability for what I said. I’m gonna come back next year. I wanna stay with the Dolphins.”

However, if the Dolphins get off to a slow start or struggle next season, they should be wary of Hill’s temperament. He may grow frustrated and become a distraction.

Should the Dolphins decide to trade Hill, who has indicated he plans to retire after the 2026 season, the Commanders make a prime landing spot for the wideout. Having Jayden Daniels throw the ball to Hill, who would line up across from Terry McLaurin, would make the Commanders almost unstoppable on offense.

The Commanders don’t need much to get to the next level, and adding a weapon like Tyreek Hill would go a long way toward reaching that goal. If Miami decides to trade him, and if he lands in Washington.
