Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Reveals Team’s Mindset After Brutal Injuries

September 11, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Head coach John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens celebrates following their 20-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans after the AFC Wild Card Playoff game

Prior to their first game of the year, the Baltimore Ravens have already suffered season-ending injuries for several key players.

Following up the loss of running backs J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill earlier this preseason, expected starting RB Gus Edwards suffered a season-ending ACL tear during Thursday’s practice.

On the very next play, two-time All-Pro corner Marcus Peters suffered an ACL tear of his own.

These losses are obviously devastating for John Harbaugh and the Ravens’ organization, who were gearing up for a potential title-contending year in 2021.

Despite these setbacks though, the longtime Baltimore head coach is ready to move forward.

“I think you mourn for a day and we fight today,” Harbaugh said per Ravens insider Jamison Hensley. “We got a really good team, a lot of great players. We can move forward. The train is moving fast.”

A day after losing RB Gus Edwards and CB Marcus Peters to season-ending knee injuries, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said: “I think you mourn for a day and we fight today. We got a really good team, a lot of great players. We can move forward. The train is moving fast.”

In response to the team’s heavily-depleted backfield depth chart, Harbaugh and the Ravens have reportedly signed three former Pro-Bowl running backs: Le’Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray. Bell and Freeman are both currently on the practice squad roster with the potential to be elevated sometime in the coming days.

The Ravens will kickoff their 2021 season with a primetime matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night.
