Matthew Stafford’s debut with the Los Angeles Rams was a successful one.
The former Detroit Lions quarterback led his team to a win over his old divisional rival, the Chicago Bears. Stafford and the Rams crushed the Bears, 34-14, to open the season with a nice victory.
Stafford played very well, throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns on 20 of 26 passing in the season-opening win.
Rams head coach Sean McVay was extremely impressed.

The rest of the NFL world was pretty impressed, too. Stafford playing in McVay’s offense with the Rams weapons should be pretty fun to watch moving forward.

I know it’s only 1 gm, but Stafford looks unbelievable in this Rams offense. No one can deny that. #NFLSunday #BearsvsRams.

It’s only one game, but the Rams have to be very happy with their trade for the former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick.
Stafford and the Rams’ offense looked like a team capable of making a deep playoff run, perhaps at the Super Bowl. That’s something the former Lions quarterback was unable to do during his time in Detroit.
Los Angeles will look to move to 2-0 on the season next week, when the Rams take on the Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. E.T. on Sunday. The game will be televised on FOX.
